Who needs Fargo, the free agent market is wide open!

It was last reported that there was trouble brewing in the Fisher/Fargo camp; Fargo appeared flustered, although not completely rattled by the divide and Fisher was naturally too busy to comment. Word has it that Fisher mended wounds over the weekend with some pro-bono career counseling and a fridge full of cold bud lights. It does not sound like his usual “tits houseboat and parade of naked chicks” trick, but apparently it was enough to seal the deal.
I caught up with Fargo between interviews, “look Kwon, I appreciate your interest in the game and I understand your business is to drive eyeballs to the site, but you blew this one out of proportion.” Defiant and confident Fargo continued, “like I said before, Fisher and I have been partners for a long time and let’s face it, when it gets dark at the open, we are always still in the tourney…I just don’t see any reason to cut ties with that type of success. And yeah, I can hear the peanut gallery already, but you’ve never won Fargo…and that’s fine, because the Open always fields the most elite competitors in the game and our time is coming soon.”
It appears that Fargo has jumped back on “the senator’s” bandwagon and is now lobbying for another big showing at the Balboa Open. Additionally, we finally reached Fisher live. His remarks seemed a bit evasive, but his intent eventually was clear, “sorry for not getting back to you sooner Kwon, I’ve just been up-to-my-eyeballs in work these days, all work and no play, you know what I mean…that being said, no one wants to be a dull boy. So yeah, Fargo and I had a few cold ones and threw a few games, perhaps not our best shoes, but no-one wants to peak early. We’ll be at the dance…and in the late rounds once again, I just hope to remember them this year.”
In more recent developments, it appears that a delicate triangle is creating quite the stir in the free agent market. Word has it that long time partners (although estranged in recent years), Andrew Paiko and Chris Mohler are potentially parting ways. Paiko, who is rumored but not confirmed to be attending the 11th annual Open, has been throwing “stupid good” shoes with newly minted Portland native, Greg Kaminskis. The conundrum spins past the triangle too, it is apparently creating questions about where Jerrod and Jose will land…I’m not a math major, but that’s five and you can’t build three teams with five old bull competitors.
All respective parties have been mum on any new developments…once again time will tell how these teams evolve.
Is Fargo searching for a new partner?

As the 11th annual Balboa Open quickly approaches wild rumors are starting to hit the airwaves. Early season hype or lack thereof had many of the faithful concerned, but heads are coming out of the sand, jobs seem less important, and loved ones are starting to wonder why their significant others seem distant.
The paint is still wet, but the game day line-ups are starting to harden. The usual suspects are solidified, but there are some high profile free agents still fishing and no doubt lines are being cast to score the best catch. Jose, C-Mo, Kaminskis…it’s like the Open is in a recession for the first time ever; perhaps these cats are just playing it cool, but some argue no one wants to pay top dollar the “Manny Ramirez” of the horseshoe world.
There might just be one unexpected bidder in the ranks. A source has confirmed that Fargo was hurt by Fisher’s initial response to his most recent injury. Apparently upon learning the severity of Fargo’s injury (i.e. crutches for the next month), he immediately wore his thumbs out texting the above mentioned free agents. 10th annual Open Champion Truckee Joe confirmed for us, “oh yeah, Fisher loves to text, that his thing for sure…” Fargo, who is allegedly recovering quicker than anticipated, recently caught wind of Fisher’s wandering eyes.
We contacted Fargo earlier this week for comment, he was evasive in his response but you could definitely sense a bit of dissention in the ranks, “…look, Fisher and I have been partners for a long time now and in the last few years; I think it’s clear who carries the team. I’ve called Fish a couple times in the past few days; apparently he’s been swamped with work…that’s all I have to say.”
Sure, everybody has busy weeks, but a headhunter busy in the worst job market in our life time? Smells fishy to me…
There was no comment from the Mohler or Vega camp for this article. There is however speculation that Kaminskis and Farg’s may be in talks…they’ve been roommates for the past year and word is they’ve been caught multiple times in beer blitz fits singing tunes of “what-if.” And oh boy, would that be a powerhouse team…perhaps a top seed?
Applications are due soon…time shall tell.
Joser, Angel Team No More
Monetary Issues May Have Caused Rift

Santa Clara, CA - The shocking news out of the Mexican camp was that Angel had withdrawn from this year's Balboa Open leaving Joser having to scramble for a new partner. Rumors on the wire point to a contract dispute, specifically profit-sharing of any Balboa Open winnings. Sources close to the situation have reported that the current contract calls for Jose to get 70% of all winnings while leaving Angel with the remaining 30%. While representatives of the pair were engaged in negotiations to revise the contract, it seems that the gap between both camps was too great to reach an agreement.
Angel's representatives were quick to release the following statement once they saw that the negotiations were going nowhere:
"We regretably announce that the Angel will not participate in the upcoming Balboa Open to be held in San Luis Obispo, California. Angel and his former partner, Jose, had a difference in opinion on the current contract which could not be resolved despite goodwill efforts on our part. We wish Jose and the rest of the athletes the best of luck at the Open."
We caught up with a very animated Joser as he continued to prepare for the Open. Needless to say he was not at all happy that his preparations have been distracted by this latest development. "It's bullshit. Once again I have deal with you bloodsuckers before an Open." referring to the presence of the press at his traning grounds. "I saw that they released a statement just minutes after my people called me to let me know of the situation. Clearly they had no plans on reaching an agreement. You want the real story? Fine." Jose has never been known to measure his words. "He wanted a 50/50 deal when I clearly carry the team. And that 'goodwill effort' they talked about is total bullshit too. I offered a 60/40 split and they wouldnt even budge from their position. Goodwill my ass. Look, the guy is a great thrower no question. But he is also a liability. Last Open we were cruising through the early rounds. But we get to the matches against good teams and he's stumbling drunk. Turns out he drank a whole bottle of something and that's all she wrote for us. The sun hadn't even gone down yet. Truly dissapointing"
It was shortly after last year's Open that the contract under dispute was signed by both athletes giving a bigger share of the profits to Jose as he has always been consistent at the pits. The question now remains; who will he choose as a partner?
"My people have been burning up the phone lines since they walked away from the table. It's too early to say but we do have a number of good leads." It was suggested that he partner up with the Greg "The Living Legend" Kamiskis as he did the last time Angel was absent from the Open. "Ha! Yeah that's a no-brainer. We won the whole thing last time we teammed up and I'm sure he's one of the options we're following-up on but like I said, it's too early."
Clearly it is to early but that wont stop the pundits from speculating.
